Ask a stupid question

If there is one thing I have learnt in the last month it is that there is no such thing as a stupid question.

Even the most daft sounding question will often contain something of what the person really wants to know.
The question of "if God exists why is there so much suffering?" Is all too often bidding the real question of " my life has turned to crap! Why doesn't God help ME!"

If we don't take the time to listen and to hear the question truly being asked then we miss the opportunity to serve the real need.

Also I have learnt that MY questions are not stupid, I have had to learn that if I don't know something then I need to ask someone, not struggle on looking like I know it all. There are things in the life of the church as with other organizations that everyone within them just know, without asking. This is because it is their environment, their rules. As the newcomer they do not always recognise that I won't know these things, it is not even on their radar, and why would it be? Sometimes we just need to ask the stupid question.

  1. Some people like being asked questions that they can answer, so ask away, it means someone will be pleased to have helped....... that's the theory, anyhow!
