And we are.. AIRBOURNE!!!

Today we went into Eastbourne on the train. "The train?" I hear you ask. "Don't you have a shiny new C3 to drive round in?" you say. Well of course you are right, I do have a new car and it is fun to drive. However today was day one of an amazing event known as Airbourne, an air show held on the seafront at Eastbourne with thousands of people watching. There were Red Arrows, F16s and all manner of other planey things. The kids were brilliant all day and Mum and Cliff seemed to have fun as well. Next year I am hoping for a special clergy seating section though as the pebbley beach left multiple dimples in a region I cannot talk about on a PG blog like this.

It was great to see so many planes performing such excellent stunts and to see so many people gathered together enjoying themselves so nicely with no bad behaviour visible from any age group (although I do have my suspicions with regards to some of the over 80's present) but among all the many stands and stalls present there seemed to be a distinct lack of Church representation (as Churches I mean. I am sure many of the volunteers were Church folk). Methinks that is something to change for next year.

Anyways now for some piccies to entertain you.

The F16 looked very cool and was by far the loudest plane there. It did some pretty nifty manoeuvres too.

The Red Arrows, excellent as always
The battle of Britain memorial flight was a sight to behold, with the planes flying in tight formation
The beach was very busy but there was still some space. We have been told though that if we were to go over the weekend, the beach is carpeted with people
A team known as Blades, think Red arrows but blue and with props rather than jets. It made it easier to keep the camera on them though
